Description

In everyday clinical practice, you will encounter patients presenting with musculoskeletal pain affecting various parts of the body. To improve your diagnostic accuracy and patient management we have developed this online CPD Module.

“CPD 11 - Clinical Excellence in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Musculoskeletal Disorders - Volume 2” is an Australian produced online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.  

This Module was designed for 10 hours of professional development activity. It is understandable that you may take a longer or shorter amount of time to complete this Module. It is the expectation of your professional registration Board that you record that amount of time in your CPD Portfolio.

When you enrol in this course, you'll have immediate access to material covering the diagnosis and management of patients presenting with a range of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction affecting the spine and the extremities. For each condition, you will be able to review and update your knowledge on the classic presentation, the causes, appropriate clinical evaluation and imaging as well as examples of red flags. In addition, suggestions for clinical management are provided.

To save you time and improve your clinical outcomes, we have included patient information and rehabilitation sheets for each condition which you can print out for your patients. We have found that the use of these materials increases compliance and improves referral rates. To help further improve new patient referrals as well as facilitate greater interprofessional cooperation, each unit provides a range of proforma referral letters for you to use.

Each condition is supplemented with a case scenario designed to demonstrate how a targeted clinical evaluation methodology with a problem-solving approach can be used to enhance your diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in practice. The material in this course includes videos of special examination procedures and a set of questions that you can ask your patients to identify "red flags" to help rule out serious pathology. For your convenience, this course also includes an easy to complete Log Book to enter your CPD activities for your CPD portfolio.

This Module is a self-paced, online, Continuing Professional Development program, giving you the flexibility to complete your CPD requirements, at home, at work or anywhere with an Internet connection.
